An example of a recently designed book was 45 pages into an A3 Portrait book. Following a phone call to discuss the price, our client sent in a cheque for £125.00 to cover all initial design and up to 30 corrections. They agreed final pdf (which is sent to you as a low resolution file to your email address) and then paid for the final print and binding.
